These terms describe the current rules for using Docvel and its browser-based PDF tools. By using the site, you agree to use it responsibly and lawfully.
1. The service
Docvel provides web pages and browser-based tools for common PDF and image tasks. Features may change, be limited, or become unavailable as the service is maintained. Some operations rebuild pages as images and may remove selectable text, links, metadata, or other PDF features.
2. Your files and results
You remain responsible for the files you choose, your authority to use them, and the results you download. Check important results before relying on them, and keep an original copy of important documents. Docvel does not guarantee that every PDF, font, form, annotation, password, or metadata field will be preserved by every operation.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use Docvel to violate applicable law, infringe another person's rights, distribute malware, interfere with the website, attempt unauthorized access, or abuse the service. You must not use the service to process material that you are not permitted to possess or modify.
4. Passwords and security
If you protect a PDF, you are responsible for choosing and storing the password. Docvel cannot recover a forgotten password. Do not rely on a generated file as your only copy of an important document or credential.
5. Intellectual property
Docvel's site design, text, branding, and software are owned by or licensed to Docvel unless otherwise stated. These terms do not transfer ownership of your documents or the content in them. You retain your rights to your files, subject to any rights held by others.
6. Availability and disclaimers
The service is provided on an available basis without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. To the extent permitted by law, Docvel is not responsible for loss caused by your use of a result without checking it, loss of files or passwords, device or browser failures, or interruptions outside Docvel's reasonable control.
